Poverty persists and spreads despite the efforts of countless dedicated individuals. National and international governmental and private organizations spend billions of dollars each year combating destitution, yet a definitive solution remains elusive. In our modern world, ordinary citizens enjoy unprecedented comforts, superior health, education, cultural options, and political rights. However, the fruits of modernity are not shared equally. Amidst expanding wealth and opportunity, a significant percentage of the world's population lives in hardship. For A Better World, Inc is a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt, no profit operating foundation.

  • Arthur Stein, PhD (1932-2023)

    Founder & Former President

Arthur Stein, PhD (1932-2023) Founder & Former President of For A Better World Inc., developed Humanics, a transdisciplinary science for winning over poverty. This approach deals with social districts holistically with all families and institutions and, elementally with the human interaction and relations that are also so important. It addresses spiritual biological, psychological, educational, economic and ecological forces shaping families and communal life. Previously, Dr. Stein contributed Comprehensive Family Therapy (Kirschner & Kirschner, Bruner/Mazel, New York 1986), a professional treatment that engages all family members and problems.

In providing consultation to governmental agencies, Dr. Stein was introduced to family problems and poverty at the regional level. He was startled to find how unproductive and beyond rescue were the programs to help families. Revisioning poverty opened the way from "Band-Aid" relief, this revelation led him to reimagine poverty alleviation strategies, shifting from temporary fixes to powerful, sustainable solutions. Subsequently, Dr. Stein closed his extensive private practice to prove how the quality of life of communities can be effectively promoted and poverty eradicated. Dr. Stein has taught and lectured frequently on family community topics.
